History of Conference

During the 2014 annual meeting of the Chinese Colloid and Interface Society (CCIS) held in National Cheng Kung University at Tainan, Taiwan, the Division of Colloids and Surface Chemistry, CSJ (Japan), and CCIS (Taiwan) reached a consensus to strengthen the collaboration and exchange in both the academic and industrial researches between Japan and Taiwan. Both parties agreed to organize the first joint symposium, the International Conference of Colloids and Interface Science, to be held in July 22 – 24, 2015 in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) in Taipei, Taiwan. Not limited to Japanese and Taiwanese participants, this joint symposium also invites several renowned scholars from the Asia-pacific countries, such as Australia, India, Korea and Singapore. We sincerely look forward to meeting you in Taiwan Tech in Taipei.

 

Aim of Conference

“Colloid and Interface Science” concerns with the phenomena involved in surface energy, dispersion stability, microstructures and colloidal particles in solution, and so on.  It has wide applications in household products, such as cosmetics, foods, medicines, and paints, or can be found in various industrial processes.  With the advance in science and technology in recent years, interfacial phenomena play very important roles in nanotechnology, energy engineering, and life sciences, and thus “colloid and interface science” becomes an important area in science.  In Asian region, especially Taiwan and Japan, many scholars and researchers from different fields work on the fundamental study and application development of “colloid and interface science”.  It is then necessary to establish a platform for deep discussions, improving academic and technological cooperation, and academic exchanges, in order to provide opportunities for scholars/researchers to share their research achievements and to promote the regional collaboration between industry, university, and research institute.

緣起

在 2014年中華民國界面科學學會年會，日本化學會膠體與界面化學部（Division of Colloids and Surface Chemistry, CSJ）委託三位學者特地撥空前來台灣與會考察，並表達希望能與台灣相關研究的學者進行深度學術交流，以増進雙方未來的學術合作，並加強台日雙方產學合 作。幾經討論後，中華民國界面科學學會與日本化學會膠體與界面化學部決議在2015年7月於台灣舉辦第一屆國際交流會議。中華民國界面科學學會經討論後， 將此會議由國立成功大學與國立台灣科技大學共同舉辦。與會者除了台日雙方學者及工業界研究員外，更邀請韓國、新加坡、印度、澳洲等亞太各地學者共襄盛舉， 會議名稱為「膠體與界面科學國際研討會 (International Conference of Colloids and Interface Science)」。預計於2015年7月22日至2015年7月24日於台灣科技大學國際會議廳演講室舉辦。

 

 舉辦目的

「膠體及界面科學」，是處理表面能、分散穩定性、溶液中微結構與膠體粒子等相關的表面現象；它們的應用範圍廣，像是在清潔化妝品、食品、醫藥、塗料等民生用途，或是各種工業程序都可以看見它們。近年來，隨著科技的進步，界面現象在奈米科技、能源工程及生命科學上扮演非常重要的角色，使得「膠體及界面科學」成為重要科學領域之一。在亞洲區域，尤其是台、日，從事「膠體及界面科學」基礎研究及應用開發的學者及研究員眾多，但多分散在各領域中，因此深覺有必要建立一個可供深度討論、增進學術及技術合作、以及進行學術交流的平台，以利各方學者分享其研究的成果及促進地區性產學研的合作機會。
